Fatah spokesman Fayez Abu Aita responded to Israeli officials’ calls to reoccupy the West Bank and their demands of Europe to cut off aid to the Palestinians, saying 'extremists in Israel don’t like to see the Palestinians united but work to foil the peace process and the establishment of a Palestinian state.'
'The reconciliation agreement and the Palestinian leadership’s path to gain international recognition of a Palestinian state has isolated Netanyahu’s government,' he added.
Abu Aita stressed that 'instigating statements and threats will not terrorize Abbas and the Palestinians or stop them from achieving their goals,' and that Fatah movement will protect the Palestinian unity as the strategic path towards freedom and independence.
