Headline: "During ceremony honoring veteran prisoners in the occupation's prisons – Tirawi: America is the primary enemy of our people, and Israel is its handmaid"
"Member of the Fatah Central Committee Tawfiq Tirawi noted that the USA is the primary enemy of the Palestinian people, and that Israel is a tool for achieving [America's] aims. He said: 'We ask ourselves how come that a great country which prides itself on liberty and democracy, and champions the liberty and independence of nations, is preventing the Palestinian nation from achieving its legitimate rights – liberty, independence, and an end to the occupation.'
This was said during a festive dinner and evening show, organized by the Prisoners' Club in cooperation with the Awjan company in Ramallah, in honor of the families of prisoners who have spent longer than twenty years in the prisons of the Israeli occupation. It was attended by Minister of Prisoners' Affairs Issa Karake, Chairman of the Prisoners' Club Qadura Fares, released prisoner Abu Sukkar, and several political and [other] honorary Palestinian figures… At the end of the evening, the organizers awarded plaques to the prisoners' families."
