Fatah Central Committee Secretary Jibril Rajoub: “We are honoring the Martyrs of the Palestinian cause from 1917 until now. These Martyrs are the most sacred thing we have.”
In 2021, the PA launched a tree planting initiative named Alive and Provided For to honor all Palestinians who died as so-called “Martyrs” since 1917, planting one tree for each Martyr. The Martyrs include numerous terrorists and murderers, such as arch-terrorist Abu Jihad who planned the murder of at least 125 Israelis; Dalal Mughrabi who led the most lethal attack against Israel in which 37 were murdered, among them 12 children; and Salah Khalaf who headed the terror organization Black September and planned the massacre of the Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics in 1972.
Quran 3:169 reads as follows (Sahih International translation): “And never think of those who have been killed in the cause of Allah as dead. Rather, they are alive with their Lord, receiving provision.”
Jibril Rajoub also serves as Chairman of the PLO Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the Palestinian Football Association, Chairman of the Palestine Olympic Committee, and Chairman of the Palestinian Scout Association (PSA).
