"From the Galilee to the Negev" – PA claims all of Israel, including Mount Herod and the City of David are "Palestinian territory"

“Chairman of the International Jerusalem Center Hasan Khater said that the Israeli government is planning to re-start its project  to ‘renovate’ 296 historical and archaeological sites that date from various historical periods [and that are located] all over Palestinian land (i.e., Israel).

Khater added: ‘“The project, that the Israeli government secretary said would soon be ready for implementation, was proposed three years ago, but we opposed it openly and organized a major international media campaign to combat it. This caused the [Israeli] occupation authorities to suspend it.’

He warned that putting this project back on the public agenda shows the occupation authorities’ determination to continue taking aim at Palestinian history, landmarks, and holy places, ‘that still today are long-standing, proud testimony to this land’s identity and its historical roots, in spite of all the crimes committed against them by the Israeli occupation.’

He said that occupation authorities ‘are taking advantage of Palestine’s being preoccupied with its internal rift and its stifling financial difficulties in order to attack our historical roots, and they are grabbing control of them through forgery and alteration. The project will damage most religious and archaeological sites in Palestinian territory, from the Galilee to the Negev, among them the Avrahami Sanctuary (i.e., Hebron’s Cave of the Patriarchs), what they call ‘the City of David’ south of Al-Aqsa, the Mount Herod region south of Bethlehem, sites in Nablus like Joseph’s tomb, and many other places.’”
