Terror orgs use shooting and stabbing attacks to try and trigger more terror

Following terrorist Fadi Abu Shkhaydam’s terror attack on Sunday in which he shot and murdered Israeli civilian Eliyahu Kay and wounded 4 others with a submachine gun in the Old City of Jerusalem, the terror organization PFLP praised the attack as “heroic” and “ideal,” while glorifying the murderer as a “knight”:

“The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) praised the heroic operation… in occupied Jerusalem, in which one of the occupation soldiers was killed (sic., a civilian was murdered) and 3 (sic., 4) others were wounded.

PFLP… added that our people’s knights proved today that resistance is the ideal option for uprooting the occupation from our land and removing its settlement enterprise from all our national land.”

The PFLP also urged Palestinians to “escalate the resistance” and copy the murderous attack, and “learn from the example of the self-sacrificing fighter who shot the settlers”:

PFLP noted that the increase in heroic operations (i.e., terror attacks) in occupied Jerusalem is proof that the Palestinian people and its young people are most determined to resist the occupation and expel it… PFLP called on the masses of our people and all the living forces to escalate the resistance at all the centers of confrontation with the occupation, and to learn from the example of the self-sacrificing fighter who shot the settlers who are robbing our land.”

The “increase” refers to several recent attacks, among them an attack carried out by 16-year-old Omar Ibrahim Abu Asab, who stabbed and wounded two Israeli border police officers near the Damascus Gate of the Old City of Jerusalem on Nov. 17, 2021.The officers shot and killed him during his attack. The PFLP also responded positively to this “operation,” calling it “heroic” and part of “our people’s revolution [that] is continuing, heating up, and becoming more qualitative day by day”:

“The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) praised the heroic operation (i.e., stabbing attack, 2 wounded) … It emphasized that this is the [appropriate] response, and this this is the way to get rid of the occupation and its settlers and fight the occupation’s crimes and its plans against our people and its holy sites… The PFLP emphasized that this operation again proves that our people’s revolution is continuing, heating up, and becoming more qualitative day by day. It also said that all the attempts to thwart it or conspire against it will fail.”

Following the murderous attack, videos have surfaced of speeches made by the murderer.

In a sermon he gave around the time 6 terrorists escaped from an Israeli prison earlier this year, Abu Shkhaydam praised all terrorist prisoners, urging that Palestinians must “support them with everything that is at our disposal”:

Terrorist Fadi Abu Shkhaydam: “Our prisoner lions have sacrificed the best of their youth and their best days. They deserve to receive only greatness, appreciation, and honor from us, and taking care of their families, until they return to live among us as dear ones and honored people, Allah willing. We must support them with everything that is at our disposal.”

Another video, entitled “the words of Martyr Fadi Abu Shkhaydam before his death as a Martyr,” shows the murderer speaking to an audience about “heroism,” which he defined as “standing against the oppressors”:

Terrorist murderer Fadi Abu Shkhaydam: “O dear ones, when we speak about the places of heroism, this is a place of heroism. A place of heroism is you standing against the oppressors. A place of heroism is you telling the oppressor: ‘Get away from us!’ A place is you comparing the [Israeli] spies with the drug dealers – after all, both of them damage us.”

[YouTube channel Green Libya, Nov. 21, 2021,
The date of the speech itself is unknown.]

As Palestinian Media Watch exposed the day after the attack, the PA whitewashed the attacker by using terminology that presented him as an innocent victim of the “occupation” while the Israeli victims were presented as the wrongdoers (“settlers and policemen”).

At a meeting in the Gaza Strip, the terror organizations PFLP and Hamas jointly “welcomed the heroic operation,” glorifying the murderer as “a heroic Martyr”:

“The Popular Front [for the Liberation of Palestine] (PFLP) and the Hamas Movement in the Gaza Strip… emphasized that they welcome the heroic operation in Jerusalem, which was carried out by heroic Martyr and Jerusalem resident Fadi Abu Shkhaydam.”

[Ma’an, independent Palestinian news agency, Nov. 22, 2021]

In keeping with PA policy that dictates joy when Palestinians die as “Martyrs” while attacking Israelis, one of the murderer’s sons bragged that he is “the son of a Martyr,” praising his killer father:

Posted text: “Allah be praised, [my father is] a Martyr
The Martyr died as he wanted, may Allah have mercy on you, you are my support
You were everything for me
You lived like a lion and you died as a Martyr like a lion
Allah be praised, [I am] the son of a Martyr

The following are longer excerpts of the statements cited above:

Headline: “The Popular Front [for the Liberation of Palestine] praises the heroic operation in Jerusalem and emphasizes that resistance is the ideal option for uprooting the occupation”

“The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) praised the heroic operation (i.e., terror attack in which terrorist Fadi Abu Shkhaydam murdered 1) this morning, Sunday [Nov. 21, 2021], next to the Chain Gate in occupied Jerusalem, in which one of the occupation soldiers was killed (sic., a civilian was murdered) and 3 (sic., 4) others were wounded.

PFLP emphasized that this operation was part of the natural response to the fascist occupation’s crimes, including – and not the last of them – the death as a Martyr of prisoner Sami Al-Amour (PMW was unable to determine the nature of his crimes; Al-Amour reportedly had a congenital heart defect -Ed.) as a result of the policy of medical neglect (sic., see note regarding PA libel on medical abuse of Palestinian prisoners). It added that our people’s knights proved today that resistance is the ideal option for uprooting the occupation from our land and removing its settlement enterprise from all our national land.

PFLP noted that the increase in heroic operations (i.e., terror attacks) in occupied Jerusalem is proof that the Palestinian people and its young people are most determined to resist the occupation and expel it despite all the difficulties, despite the attempts to eliminate its national cause, and despite the expansion of the circle of normalization [with Israel].

PFLP called on the masses of our people and all the living forces to escalate the resistance at all the centers of confrontation with the occupation, and to learn from the example of the self-sacrificing fighter who shot the settlers who are robbing our land.”

Fadi Abu Shakhdam - Palestinian terrorist and senior Hamas member who murdered 1 and wounded 4 others, one of them seriously, in a shooting attack with a submachine gun near the Chain Gate of the Old City of Jerusalem on Nov. 21, 2021, before Israeli police officers shot and killed him.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) - a socialist Palestinian terror organization and one of the largest factions in the PLO. Founded by George Habash in 1967, PFLP has planned and carried out numerous terror attacks against Israeli civilians since its founding and throughout the PA terror campaign (the second Intifada, 2000-2005). One of its most high profile attacks was the murder of Israeli Minister of Tourism Rehavam Ze'evi on Oct. 17, 2001. PFLP has been designated as a terror organization by several states including the US, Japan, Canada, Australia, and the EU.Terrorist prisoner Ahmad Sa’adat has served as PFLP’s secretary-general since 2001; he is serving a 30-year sentence in an Israeli prison for heading the PFLP.

Libel on medical abuse of Palestinian prisoners - The PA claims that Israel abuses Palestinian prisoners through medical neglect, medical experiments, and by intentionally infecting them with diseases. However, the International Red Cross regularly visits these prisoners and has not documented or accused Israel of any of these claims. Likewise, lists of demands occasionally issued by the prisoners during hunger strikes—such as during one in 2011—include no demands relating to these claims. PMW has documented prisoners talking about how they "lack nothing" in the prisons and that "the worst thing about Israeli prison" is riding in a prison vehicle that has no padding on the seat. When PMW contacted the Israeli Ministry of Health in 2007 regarding PA claims of medical experiments on prisoners, the ministry responded: "Clinical testing on prisoners in prison was never approved, never performed, and is most certainly not taking place at present."

“On Sunday evening, Nov. 21, [2021,] the Popular Front [for the Liberation of Palestine] (PFLP) and the Hamas Movement in the Gaza Strip held an important senior level meeting, during which many domestic and foreign topics were discussed.

The two emphasized that they welcome the heroic operation (i.e., terror attack, 1 murdered) in Jerusalem, which was carried out by heroic Martyr and Jerusalem resident Fadi Abu Shkhaydam (i.e., terrorist, murdered 1). They added that this is an operation that proves anew that the sword of Jerusalem is still drawn (refers to Fatah/Hamas Riot and Rocket War 2021, which Hamas called “the sword of Jerusalem battle” -Ed.)…”

[Ma’an, independent Palestinian news agency, Nov. 22, 2021]

Fatah/Hamas Riot and Rocket War 2021 – On April 30, 2021, facing certain electoral defeat, PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas cancelled the first PA elections scheduled in 15 years. Hamas, which expected to win the elections, denounced it as a “coup.” In need of a conflict to divert public discontent, Abbas artificially generated a crisis over Jerusalem. His Fatah party called for "raising the level of confrontation,” and Abbas' spokesman told Palestinians "the battle of all battles is here.” Jerusalem Arabs responded by attacking Jews with rocks and Molotov cocktails. Hamas, Abbas' political rival, could not allow Abbas to lead the battle, so on May 10, 2021, Hamas launched rocket barrages targeting Israeli population centers including Jerusalem. Over the next 11 days, Hamas and Islamic Jihad fired over 4,300 rockets into southern and central Israel from the Gaza Strip, killing 9 Israelis and 3 foreign nationals, and wounding hundreds. In response, Israel launched Operation Guardian of the Walls to target Hamas terror leaders and terror infrastructure in the Gaza Strip. Already in mid-April, a planned eviction of some Palestinian families illegally living in Jewish-owned buildings in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of Jerusalem had led to clashes between Palestinian residents and Israeli police. This dispute provided Palestinians with a pretext for violent rioting. Adding to the crisis, Israeli Arabs started rioting throughout Israel, especially in cities with a mixed Jewish and Arab population. Two Jews were murdered and many were wounded. According to Walla, an independent Israeli news site, 10 synagogues were wholly or partly burned down; fires were set in 112 Jewish homes and 1 Arab home mistaken for a Jewish home; 386 Jewish homes were plundered and 673 were damaged; 849 cars were set ablaze; and there were 5,018 rock-throwing attacks. In response, Jews started attacking Arabs and their properties as well, but on a much smaller scale. No mosques were burned; 13 Arab homes were damaged; 13 Arab-owned cars were burned; and there were 41 rock-throwing attacks by Jews. [Walla, May 16, 2021] The fighting between Israel and Hamas ended with a ceasefire on May 21, 2021.

Headline: “The first Palestinian political party responds to the stabbing operation in Jerusalem”

“The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) praised the heroic operation (i.e., stabbing attack, 2 wounded) that was carried out this evening [Nov. 17, 2021] in occupied Jerusalem, in which three settlers were wounded, one of them seriously (sic., terrorist Omar Ibrahim Abu Asab wounded 2 Israeli border police officers, neither of them seriously, before they shot and killed him in defense). It emphasized that this is the [appropriate] response, and this this is the way to get rid of the occupation and its settlers and fight the occupation’s crimes and its plans against our people and its holy sites.

In a statement, a copy of which reached [the independent Palestinian news agency] Donia Al-Watan, the PFLP emphasized that this operation again proves that our people’s revolution is continuing, heating up, and becoming more qualitative day by day. It also said that all the attempts to thwart it or conspire against it will fail.”
