Libel: Israel uses chemical and biological weapons against Palestinians, claims PA, saying Israel "used chemical weapons against Palestinians and Israeli settlers have burned Palestinian families using chemicals"

Headline: “Palestine demands to send an international biological investigative team to the settlements”

"[PA] Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates [Riyad Al-Malki’s] aide on the UN and its functional organizations Omar Al-Awadallah demanded to send a biological investigative team to the settlements to check the laboratories in these settlements, which were illegally established on the occupied Palestinian land, including Jerusalem.

He said this during the Palestinian state’s speech in the discussions of the Biological Weapons Convention member states committee, which is taking place in Geneva, Switzerland.

The State of Palestine’s speech emphasized commitment to the international conventions that it has joined, including those dealing with weapons of mass destruction disarmament…

The speech mentioned the obstacles standing in the way of the State of Palestine in implementing the conventions, and foremost among them the illegal Israeli occupation and its control over the crossings and borders. This is in addition to the uncertainty regarding what is being developed inside the illegal settlements on the land of the State of Palestine and the settlers’ terror, which exposes a danger of this kind of weapon and other kinds of weapons being used against our people.

In a response to the representative of Israel, the occupying regime, which attempted to attack the State of Israel’s efforts and its commitment to the agreement, Al-Awadallah refused to allow the occupying regime’s representative to speak at the conference. He emphasized that the occupation that targets children and women is not only illegal but also immoral, and he noted that its behavior is unpredictable because it does not uphold international conventions and law.

Al-Awadallah noted that Israel is the only side that refuses the establishment of a weapons of mass destruction demilitarized zone in the Middle East, and that it is the only side that has nuclear weapons and that refuses to subject it to the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). He added that it has used chemical weapons against the Palestinian people (sic.), and that its settlers have burned Palestinian families using chemicals (sic.).”

Duma arson attack - Two Palestinian houses in the West Bank village of Duma were ‎set afire by Molotov cocktails thrown through their windows on July 31, 2015. 18-month-old Ali Dawabsheh was murdered in ‎this attack, as was his father, Saad Dawabsheh and mother, Reham Dawabsheh, who both died of their injuries later. The ‎only survivor of the attack was the couple’s other son, 4-year-old Ahmad, who suffered burns on 60% of ‎his body and was treated in Israel. Israeli leaders and citizens from all sectors of society condemned ‎this attack, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas that all ‎Israelis were disgusted by the crime, adding, “We will not countenance terrorism of any kind.” He ordered ‎the security forces "to use all means at their disposal to apprehend the murderers and bring them to ‎justice forthwith." Israeli Police has treated the attack as a nationalistic crime carried out by Jewish extremists in revenge for Palestinian terror attacks. In ‎early December 2015, Israeli police arrested several Jewish extremists who were believed to have been ‎involved in the attack, and in January 2016, Israel indicted 21-year-old Amiram Ben Uliel, a member of the ‎radical Jewish group “Hilltop Youth,” with three counts of murder, attempted murder, arson and ‎conspiracy to commit a nationalistically-motivated crime. Ben Uliel confessed to police that he carried out the attack in revenge for the murder of Malachi Rosenfeld, an Israeli who was shot and murdered in a terror attack in the West Bank. Part of Ben Uliel's confession was deemed inadmissible by a court on June 19, 2018, given that it was extracted under torture, and the court also threw out the confessions of a minor whose name remains under a police gag order for the same reason; the minor was later released to house arrest, and all charges against him of involvement in the Duma arson were dropped during a plea bargain reached on May 12, 2019. Suspicions have been raised that the arson and three other subsequent arson attacks against other Dawabshe family members are part of a family feud. The trial of Ben Uliel is still pending.

Muhammad Abu Khdeir - Palestinian teen kidnapped and murdered by Israeli extremists in Jerusalem on July 2, 2014, in revenge for the kidnapping and murder of Israeli teens Eyal Yifrach, Gilad Shaar and Naftali Fraenkel in the West Bank on June 12. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other Israeli ministers immediately condemned the revenge murder in the strongest terms. Israeli police arrested six Israeli suspects on July 6 of whom three confessed to murdering Khdeir. One of the murderers, Yosef Ben-David, is serving life in prison and an additional 20 years. His two accomplices, both unnamed minors, are serving life in prison and 21 years respectively.
