Mayor of Jericho falsely claims that Israel is distributing drugs to Palestinians in order to weaken them

Jericho Mayor Salem Ghrouf: “Today if the occupation is unable to get in to us from a certain door, it gets in to us from the door of drugs and through its spread and the flooding of - In other words, these young people are at a certain age, and [the occupation] is actually using areas where the Palestinian presence or the Palestinian [PA] Security [Forces] are lessened there to a certain degree or are weak, like Area C (i.e., land under full Israeli administration according to the Oslo Accords). But I tell you that we in Jericho can reach Area C and everywhere so that we will be able to eliminate this phenomenon.”
