[Fatah] women’s bureau director in Beirut Amal Shehadeh gave a speech in which she explained that the Palestinian heritage is a central element in the conflict with the Zionist enemy, and that it is an inseparable part of the Palestinian identity that the occupation has been attempting to blur and negate since it began its settlement enterprise in Palestine.
Secretary of Fatah and the PLO factions in the Shatila refugee camp Kazem Hassan told [the official PA daily] Al-Hayat Al-Jadida: ‘The Israelis have no heritage (sic.), and therefore they want to steal the Palestinian heritage. We must adhere to this heritage and constantly highlight it.’”
