Libelous PA column says Israel commits "terror", including "colonialist settlement enterprise’s war crimes committed with protection of the Israeli death army," "executions," and "barbaric attacks by settler herds"

Excerpt of a column by Omar Hilmi Al-Ghoul, regular columnist for the official PA daily

Headline: “The consequences of Zionist terror”

“Zionist terror has existed since the day at the end of the 19th century when the Zionist movement was established…

What characterizes the Zionist state’s terror with its official and unofficial elements in the last decade is:

  1. The increase in the settler herds’ crimes against the Palestinian people, their property, and their places of worship. The number of these crimes stood at more than 460 barbaric attacks this year [2021].
  2. The fact that all the colonialist settlement enterprise’s war crimes were committed with the support and protection of the Israeli death army.
  3. The full coordination in planning and execution between the settler gangs and the various Israeli governments…

What has been happening in the cities of the Palestinian West Bank since Thursday evening [Dec. 16, 2021] following the shooting of the settler herds’ car, in which one of them was killed and two accompanying him were wounded (refers to murder of Yehuda Dimentman in terror attack; see note below -Ed.), reflects the barbaric face of the settler herds with the enforcement of the army forces, the border police, and the Israeli security forces, which have spread like mushrooms in the Nablus and Tulkarem districts…

These barbaric crimes necessitate:

  1. Acting to escalate the popular resistance (i.e., term used by Palestinians, which also refers to the use of violence and terror) throughout the Palestinian homeland, according to a practical and realistic plan that will be implemented immediately and without tarrying or hesitation.
  2. Establishing popular committees in the various cities and villages whose mission will be to defend against the barbaric attacks and directly block these murderers by any means possible.”

Yehuda Dimentman – 25-year-old Israeli who was murdered in a shooting attack by Palestinian terrorists near Homesh, west of Nablus, on Dec. 16, 2021. Two other Israelis were wounded in the attack. Israel arrested four Palestinian terrorists suspected of carrying out the attack and seized assault weapons from them on Dec. 19, 2021.

The terms "peaceful uprising/resistance,” and “popular uprising/resistance" are used by PA leaders at times to refer to peaceful protest and at times to refer to deadly terror attacks and terror waves. For example, ‎Mahmoud Abbas defined as “peaceful popular” the murderous terror during the 2015-2016 ‎terror wave (“The Knife Intifada”), in which 40 people were killed (36 Israelis, 1 Palestinian, 2 Americans and 1 Eritrean) and hundreds wounded in stabbings, shootings, and car ramming attacks. Abbas said: "We want peaceful popular uprising, and that’s what this is." https://palwatch.org/page/9276
