Abbas repeats completely falsified antisemitic libels, comparing Nazis and zionism, claiming that the Jewish Agency oppressed Jews, and saying Hitler encouraged aliyah to Israel

Excerpt of a column by Muwaffaq Matar, Fatah Revolutionary Council member and regular columnist for the official PA daily, on a meeting held by PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas with various Palestinian intellectuals at the PA presidential headquarters in Ramallah on Dec. 23, 2021

Headline: “How shall we call President Mahmoud Abbas? – Part 4

Zionism, the Third Reich, [Operation] Magic Carpet, and [Operation] Ali Baba”

“[PA] President of the State of Palestine and current leader of the [Palestinian] National Liberation Movement [‘Fatah’] Dr. Mahmoud Abbas published a book in Arabic entitled 'The Other Side: The Secret Relationship Between Nazism and Zionism.’ The book was published in 1984, after its text was submitted to the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia in 1982 to receive a doctoral degree. In summary, it proved that the Jews in Germany and Europe who were murdered by the Nazis were victims of a Zionist-Nazi conspiracy (sic.). As proof it brought the 1933 Ha’avara Agreement… in whose framework the Third Reich – Hitler’s political party (sic., it was the name of the Nazi regime) – agreed with the Jewish Agency to facilitate the migration of Jews from Germany to Palestine, which was under the British Mandate. It emphasized that there is an exaggeration of the events of the Nazi Holocaust, and also exposed how the Zionist organization invented the myth of 6 million killed Jews, which it described as ‘a great lie’ (sic., the number of Jewish Holocaust victims is well documented).

The Nazi-Zionist Ha’avara Agreement determined that every Jewish German emigrating to Palestine could receive his movable and immovable property, and indeed, in the period between 1933-1939, 60,000 Jewish Germans arrived…

The Nazis realized their interest – to get rid of the Jews and use them to establish their interests in the center of the Arab homeland, Palestine. This is as President Mahmoud Abbas said at his historical conference, which took place at the [PA] presidential headquarters on Thursday [Dec. 23, 2021]…

We must focus on what the president said regarding the [Jewish] question or ‘the Jewish problem,’ because its cause is that the Jews of the Khazar kingdom did not integrate in the European societies (sic., genetic research has proven Jews are not the descendants of Khazars and that they share a common origin in Israel). He noted statements by Jewish thinkers and theorists, and foremost among them Karl Marx, who were in complete agreement that the source of the Jewish problem is not their religion or them being or not being ‘Semites,’ but rather their negative financial social role, which caused extremist positions to be taken against them.

President Mahmoud Abbas said with full confidence, which relies on historical references and documents and admissions by Arab Jews, that they lived in security and peace in the [Arab] society. Even when a Christian child (sic., a monk and his servant) disappeared in Damascus in 1840 and the Jews were accused of kidnapping him and taking his blood to prepare Passover matzah, and following rage that led to limited attacks, they were cleared of guilt after an investigation held by the Ottoman authorities, as [consumption of] blood is forbidden for the Jews (Jewish leaders were tortured by Muslim authorities over the blood libel amid widespread Muslim and Christian violence against Jews, until the restoration of Ottoman rule that denounced the charges under international pressure -Ed.).The Jews reached key political, economic, and social positions in their Arab societies, which included Muslims and Christians alike. But the Jewish Agency, the executive branch of the Zionist organization, has created problems and conflicts with them since 1920, which reached their peak in violent acts against the Jewish Arabs in order to force them to emigrate from their lands of origin to Palestine, and this was following the issuing of the Balfour Declaration in November 1917 (sic., Arabs, not the Jewish Agency, attacked and persecuted Jews, driving increased immigration to Israel, their land of origin).Despite this, the Jewish Arabs continued to adhere to their historical roots in their homelands. The Jewish Iraqis refused to emigrate from their land, as they lived a comfortable life that no one had dreamed of. The Jewish Yemenites, despite their difficult economic situation, [also] refused, and the positions of the Jewish Moroccans were identical to the positions of their brothers – they rejected the idea of emigrating from their homeland, regardless of the destination. But the Zionist organization ignored this refusal and attempted to harm them (sic.) – even at the cost of victims dying among them – as this is the cost for achieving the goal: Causing the Jews to immigrate from the Arab states to Palestine.”

The Balfour Declaration of Nov. 2, 1917 was a letter from British Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour to Baron Rothschild stating that "His Majesty's government views with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people." In 1922, the League of Nations adopted this and made the British Mandate "responsible for putting into effect the declaration," which led to the UN vote in favor of partitioning Mandatory Palestine into a Jewish state and an Arab state in 1947. In response, Britain ended its mandate on May 15, 1948, and the Palestinian Jews, who accepted the Partition Plan, declared the independent State of Israel. The Palestinian Arabs rejected the plan and together with 7 Arab states attacked Israel, in what is now known as Israel's War of Independence.
