PLO threatened "our people’s glorious revolution is continuing on its path of struggle… and called to expand the basis of the struggle" to secure an "independent state with Jerusalem as its capital"

Headline: “The [Palestinian] National Council: Our people’s revolution continues on the path of struggle until the return and the independent state”

“The Palestinian National Council (i.e., the legislative body of the PLO) said that our people’s glorious revolution is continuing on its path of struggle to restore the legal national rights, which are the return [of the Palestinian refugees] and an independent state whose capital is Jerusalem…

The council also saluted the heroes of the popular resistance (i.e., term used by Palestinians, which also refers to the use of violence and terror) at all the sites of resolve and sacrifice, and particularly in Jerusalem in Sheikh Jarrah, Silwan, Burqa, Beita, Beit Dajan, Kafar Qaddum, Masafer Yatta, and also the Jordan Valley, and called to expand the basis of the struggle to cause the continuation of the occupation to be costly and to have a high price.

The terms "peaceful uprising/resistance,” and “popular uprising/resistance" are used by PA leaders at times to refer to peaceful protest and at times to refer to deadly terror attacks and terror waves. For example, ‎Mahmoud Abbas defined as “peaceful popular” the murderous terror during the 2015-2016 ‎terror wave (“The Knife Intifada”), in which 40 people were killed (36 Israelis, 1 Palestinian, 2 Americans and 1 Eritrean) and hundreds wounded in stabbings, shootings, and car ramming attacks. Abbas said: "We want peaceful popular uprising, and that’s what this is." https://palwatch.org/page/9276
