“The Palestinian Supreme Fatwa Council… emphasized that Jerusalem is Palestinian Arab and its pearl, the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, belongs completely to the Muslims only, and no one has a right to interfere in their affairs. The council demanded that the occupation authorities stop harming the sanctity of the mosque and attempting to change the religious, legal, and historical status quo, and it called on our people to come to it and intensify the activities of rejecting changing the characteristics of the holy city [of Jerusalem] and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
