PA claims Yair Lapid is two-faced, and his "true nature" is showing through

“The [PA] Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said that Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs Yair Lapid’s statements prove that his positions are no different than those of the Israeli right-wing, which does not recognize the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and does not recognize the existence of the occupation and the possibility of an agreement with the Palestinians at the current time (refers to Lapid saying he will adhere to coalition agreements not to enter negotiations with the PA during his rotation as prime minister starting August 2023 -Ed.).

In a statement yesterday [Jan. 4, 2022], it added that at a time when Lapid is attempting to give the international community the impression that he supports the two-state solution – as happened in his meeting with the European Union (EU) foreign ministers – he again returns to his true nature, through the scope of his daily statements. The latest of them was his words to Israeli journalists regarding ‘the lie of racist Israel,’ his incitement against the Palestinian diplomatic achievements on the international level… and against the PA, his denial of the occupation’s existence, and the like.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that this proves that Lapid is speaking two languages: a language directed at the global public opinion and the international community, in which he demonstrates a desire for peace and relates positively to the international institutions’ resolutions, but when he turns to the Israeli society or media, his discourse completely changes.”
