PA sends a "message of official protest" to the Dutch government over the Netherlands' decision to stop funding Palestinian terror

Headline: “The [PA] Ministry of Foreign Affairs summons the representative of the Netherlands in protest over the decision to stop the funding to the [Union for] Agricultural Work Committees”

“Yesterday [Jan. 10, 2022], the [PA] Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates summoned Representative of the Netherlands in the State of Palestine [Kees van Baar] to convey a message of official protestto him over the Dutch government’s decision to stop funding the Palestinian Union for Agricultural Work Committees (UAWC) that was made on Jan. 5, 2022 (refers to one of 6 PFLP-affiliated Palestinian NGOs designated by Israel as terror organizations; see note below -Ed.)

.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Amal Jadou expressed the shock and chagrin of the [PA] leadership over the Dutch government’s decision… that is liable to negatively and directly impact tens of thousands of families whose income is based on agricultural activity, and tens of thousands of dunams of agricultural land in the territories that are under threaten of being taken control of [by Israel], which are defined as Area C (i.e., land under full Israeli administration according to the Oslo Accords).

This is even though the results of the investigation carried out by the Dutch advisory team on the matter were in favor of the UAWC; the team did not defame the UAWC and did not verify even one of the false and fabricated Israeli claims against the UAWC and its activity.

She emphasized that the Dutch government’s decision constitutes an acceding to the systematic incitement campaigns by the extremist Israeli right-wing organizations against the UAWC and against the Palestinian civil society in general.”

The UAWC is one of the 6 Palestinian NGOs Israel banned in October 2021 - Israel designated six Palestinian NGOs as terror organizations on Oct. 22, 2021, due to their affiliation with the PFLP terror organization. The six NGOs are: Al-Haq, Addameer, the Bisan Center, Defense for Children International - Palestine, the Union for Agricultural Work Committees, and the Union of Palestinian Women’s Committees.
