Fatah declares that "all of Palestine is ours" and we will fight using "popular resistance" to realize that principle

Official PA TV program Palestine This Morning, on a Fatah conference on political and social thought held on Dec. 18, 2021

Fatah Academy of Thought President Bakr Abu Bakr: “Fatah is based on two ideas: the original principles and political pragmatism. These are the two ideas that existed in the intellectual environment of the Fatah thinkers and the national thinkers in general.

The original principles do not contradict political pragmatism.

The original principles are that all of Palestine is ours. This is the true historical narrative of the existence in this land for 4,000 or 5,000 years and it continues to this very day, and this idea continues to exist (sic., the Palestinians have no history prior to the modern period). These are the original principles that cannot be relinquished. The political pragmatism in its various stages necessitates dealing with the changing conditions. These two ideas are what delineate Fatah’s activity. There is no relinquishing the original principles and the logic that is based on the narrative, but we deal with pragmatism according to the changing conditions and the various options, and recently our option, as we all know, is non-violent and mass popular resistance (i.e., term used by Palestinians, which also refers to the use of violence and terror), through which we can at least implement certain steps forward.”

The terms "peaceful uprising/resistance,” and “popular uprising/resistance" are used by PA leaders at times to refer to peaceful protest and at times to refer to deadly terror attacks and terror waves. For example, ‎Mahmoud Abbas defined as “peaceful popular” the murderous terror during the 2015-2016 ‎terror wave (“The Knife Intifada”), in which 40 people were killed (36 Israelis, 1 Palestinian, 2 Americans and 1 Eritrean) and hundreds wounded in stabbings, shootings, and car ramming attacks. Abbas said: "We want peaceful popular uprising, and that’s what this is." https://palwatch.org/page/9276
