PA TV distorts history: No Palestinian ever targeted a civilian; Israelis always target civilians
Official PA TV program From the Israeli Archive, an Israeli news program on the hijacking of Sabena Flight 571 is played and explained in Arabic by official PA TV host Nasser Al-Lahham
Official PA TV host Nasser Al-Lahham: “I want to again emphasize what I said in previous episodes: Not a single Palestinian has carried out a single operation (i.e., terror attack) in order to kill civilians, but all the operations that the Zionist parties carried out were in order to kill [civilians]… Palestinians kidnap or shoot in the air to express the justice of their cause, while the Israelis shoot to kill.”
There are numerous examples of terror attacks in which Palestinian terrorists deliberately targeted civilians. In suicide bombings, hijackings, shooting attacks, stabbings, and car rammings. Among the most lethal are for example:
Coastal Road Massacre - In March 1978, a group of Fatah terrorists from Lebanon led by Dalal Mughrabi hijacked a bus on Israel's Coastal Highway. Confronted by the Israeli army, the terrorists murdered many of the passengers on the bus, in total 37 civilians,12 of them children, and wounded more than 70. The attack, orchestrated by arch-terrorist Abu Jihad (Khalil Al-Wazir), is known in Israel as the Coastal Road Massacre.
Lod Airport attack – on May 30, 1972, Takeshi Okudaira, Yasuyuki Yasuda and Kozo Okamoto – members of the Japanese Red Army who had been recruited by the Palestinian terror organization Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) – carried out a terror attack at Israel’s Lod (Tel Aviv) airport. Throwing hand grenades and shooting, the terrorists murdered 24 (8 Israelis and 16 foreign tourists), and wounded over 70. Okudaira and Yasuda were killed during the attack, while Okamoto was arrested and sentenced to 3 life sentences, but was released in the Jibril Exchange in May 1985, after only 13 years of imprisonment, when Israel agreed to release 1,150 Palestinian prisoners, including terrorist murderers, in exchange for three Israeli soldiers who had been taken hostage by the terror organization the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine - General Command (PFLP - GC).
Ma'alot massacre - terror attack committed by terrorists who were members of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) on May 15, 1974. The terrorists took hostages at the Netiv Meir Elementary School in Ma'alot. When Israeli forces tried to rescue the hostages, the terrorists attacked the hostages with guns and grenades, murdering 22 children and 4 adults
The Sbarro pizza shop suicide bombing in Jerusalem where a Hamas suicide bomber murdered 15 civilians, 7 of them children, and wounded 130 on Aug. 9, 2001. Ahlam Tamimi, who chose the location for the bombing, explained that she chose Sbarro because knew it would be full of people.
