Fatah official boasts that the PA police “sacrificed more than 3,000 Martyrs” during the second Intifada

Headline: “Beirut: Fatah realizes its democracy and has its say”

(The following describes a Fatah event in Lebanon -Ed.)

“Fatah Lebanon Branch Secretary Hussein Fayyad… emphasized that the attempts that are being made today in Palestine to inflame emotions, to spark strife, and to deliberately attack Fatah, the PLO, His Honor [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas, and the legal Palestinian government are an Israeli action that is being carried out by an army of agents who were planted by the occupation (refers to public protests against the PA Security Forces’ killing of activist Nizar Banat; see note below -Ed.)…

[Fayyad said:] ‘Since the start of the so-called ‘Arab Spring’ in 2011, they have attempted to harm the security of Palestine through front organizations of the civil society…’

Fayyad added: ‘So who stands behind the attack on the leader of the legal Palestinian government President Mahmoud Abbas, the Fatah Movement, and the [PA] Security Forces? Do the supporters of freedom of opinion and expression know that the Security Forces and the Palestinian [PA] Police sacrificed more than 3,000 Martyrs and thousands of wounded and prisoners during the second Intifada (i.e., PA terror campaign 2000-2005, more than 1,100 Israelis murdered) in defense of their people?’”

PA critic and activist Nizar Banat died after being violently beaten and arrested by PA Security Forces in Hebron on June 24, 2021.

The second Intifada – PA terror campaign (2000-2005) in which more than 1,100 Israelis were murdered.
