Israel is "re-enacting the German Nazi Holocaust in a new way against the Palestinians" says PA
Excerpt of a column by Omar Hilmi Al-Ghoul, regular columnist for official PA daily and former advisor to former PA Prime Minister Salam Fayyad on national affairs
Headline: “Israel, an apartheid state”
“For 74 years the various governments of Israel have committed ethnic cleansing against the Palestinian people…
They have committed dozens and hundreds of barbaric massacres against it to achieve the colonialist goal, even before the establishment of the Zionist colonialist project’s state through the terror gangs (Haganah, Irgun, Lechi, and the like) [parentheses in source] (i.e., Jewish defense forces in the pre-state period)…
However, the Palestinian people and its legal leadership have continued the struggle in cooperation with the non-governmental and official human rights organizations and also with Arab and international organizations, foremost among them the peace-supporting Human Rights Watch, and also the Israeli organization B’Tselem. [This is in order] to document the Israeli war crimes and to present them before the UN and its relevant organizations and before Amnesty International.
[The PA leadership] has tirelessly continued in attempting to cause the world to abandon irresolution and ambiguousness on everything connected to diagnosing the nature of Israeli colonialism according to scientific criteria and according to the texts of international law, and to denounce it – with its true components – as colonialism whose supporting pillar is ethnic cleansing and reenacting the German Nazi Holocaust in a new way against the Palestinians…
After more than seven decades the world has gradually begun to identify with the truth and to reexamine its lame and negligent policy that is reflected in all the previous reports, the most prominent and important of them being the report by the Amnesty [International] organization. This organization is worthy of esteem and so too its report, because it supported the Palestinian right and diagnosed reality as it is - something that should have been the case since the first day of the Nakba in 1948 (i.e., “the catastrophe,” the Palestinian term for the establishment of the State of Israel). Never mind. The Palestinian people has been waiting for a long time. It has held on and been burned thousands of times by the crimes of apartheid, but it has made an important step, a step that is worthy of attention and worthy of being built upon in order to achieve the full political victory through full liberation from the yoke of Israeli colonialism.”
