PA Supreme Shari’ah Judge Mahmoud Al-Habbash lies, saying the PA wants peace and a two-state solution

Headline: “Israeli directors, artists, and writers emphasize their opposition to the continuation of the occupation”

“Members of a delegation that included dozens of Israeli directors, artists, and writers emphasized their opposition to the continuation of the Israeli occupation and having the current situation remain as is forever.

During a meeting held with the [PA] Committee for Interaction with Israeli Society in Ramallah yesterday [Aug. 14, 2021], members of the delegation announced that they believe that there is a Palestinian peace partner…

Chairman of the Committee for Interaction [with Israeli Society] and Fatah Movement Central Committee member Muhammad Al-Madani called on the Israeli intellectuals and artists to fulfill a role in the activity for the sake of a just peace that is based on the two-state solution, while finding a fair and agreed upon solution for the problem of the Palestinian refugees in accordance with UN Resolution 194 (see note below -Ed.) and as was noted in the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative…

Supreme Shari’ah Judge Mahmoud Al-Habbash emphasized that the delegation’s arrival is a right step at the right time, and that our people is interested in peace based on the two-state solution. He noted that the problem is on the Israeli side, which is continuing to evade the demands of a just and comprehensive solution in accordance with the relevant decisions of the international institutions and the UN

He explained that normalization with Arab states (refers to Abraham Accords; see note below -Ed.) will not bring peace, because peace begins from Palestine and it is impossible to make peace without recognizing our people’s right to self-determination and to establish its independent Palestinian state whose capital is East Jerusalem in the June 4, 1967 borders.

The visit of the Israeli artists in Ramallah took place as part of the struggle that is taking place between the Palestinian narrative and the Israeli narrative. The Palestinian narrative must not disappear. It must be held onto and conveyed to the depths of Israeli society.
