"This is our land. Palestinians were born on it more than 5,000 years ago" lies PLO, inventing history

Headline: “Al-Za’anoun: We will not agree to a continuation of the status quo or to any alternatives that will diminish our national rights”

The following is an excerpt from a speech by Palestinian National Council Chairman Salim Al-Za’anoun at the 31st session of the Palestinian National Council – the legislative body of the PLO, which was delivered on Al-Za’anoun’s behalf by Palestinian National Council Deputy Chairman Father Constantine Qarmash -Ed.

“As part of the response to the crimes of the occupation and the settlers, we must expand the base of popular resistance (i.e., term used by Palestinians, which also refers to the use of violence and terror) and take advantage of the positions that have begun to call to define Israel as an apartheid state in quite a few international reports. We must take advantage of the weapon of the International Criminal Court (ICC), which has become one of the most powerful legal weapons…

This is our land. We were born on it more than 5,000 years ago (sic., the Palestinians have no history prior to the modern period), and we will remain in it.”

The terms "peaceful uprising/resistance,” and “popular uprising/resistance" are used by PA leaders at times to refer to peaceful protest and at times to refer to deadly terror attacks and terror waves. For example, ‎Mahmoud Abbas defined as “peaceful popular” the murderous terror during the 2015-2016 ‎terror wave (“The Knife Intifada”), in which 40 people were killed (36 Israelis, 1 Palestinian, 2 Americans and 1 Eritrean) and hundreds wounded in stabbings, shootings, and car ramming attacks. Abbas said: "We want peaceful popular uprising, and that’s what this is." https://palwatch.org/page/9276
