PA libel: "The Israeli enemy continues to strive to disrupt and destroy Palestinian academic life at all levels"

Excerpt of a column by Omar Hilmi Al-Ghoul, regular columnist for official PA daily and former advisor to former PA Prime Minister Salam Fayyad on national affairs

Headline: “The dangers in putting the university on strike”

“In recent months irregularities have occurred inside Birzeit University on a number of levels: first, the strong and negative disagreements between the student groups; second, [disagreements] between the student groups and the university administration; and third, the Israeli colonialist security forces’ ongoing taking control of the university and carrying out arrests against a number of students in broad daylight…

The first to benefit from this is the Israeli enemy, which has striven and continues to strive to disrupt and destroy academic life at all levels…

Therefore, why should we give the Zionist enemy free service and put the university on strike without any substantial reason?”
