Official PA TV newsreader: “Amnesty [International] Secretary-General [Agnès Callamard] called on the international community to act to stop Israel’s crimes against the Palestinians, and she noted in a press conference – which took place in occupied Jerusalem in response to the report that the organization composed under the title ‘The Israeli regime of racial segregation and apartheid’ (sic., "Israel’s apartheid against Palestinians: a cruel system of domination and a crime against humanity”) – that it is a cruel regime that rests on control and constitutes a crime against humanity.”

Amnesty International Jerusalem Office Director Saleh Hijazi: “In a documented fashion and with deep legal analysis, the report presents how Israel is implementing the apartheid regime and the crime of apartheid against the Palestinians in all the places that Israel controls geographically, and also in everything regarding the Palestinian refugees outside of this area by negating their right of return. What is new here is actually the Amnesty International organization joining with the Palestinian organizations first and foremost, which have been doing this work and this step for many years, and also with the other Israeli and international organizations, and actually joining this outlook and this push towards holding [Israel] accountable, and this is very important.

There are currently opportunities together with the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) investigation and with the fact-finding commission from the UN Human Rights Council – there are opportunities to push, and actually to understand, and this is what we are working on, that the world states and international organizations will recognize that Israel is a state of a racial segregation and apartheid regime against the Palestinians.”
