Jerusalem District calls on "old and young, men and women" to carry out ribat, religious conflict over land claimed to be Islamic

Headline: “The Night Journey and Ascent to Heaven – the divine message infuriates the occupation”

“The Jerusalem district emphasized that… the fact that Jerusalem residents and members of our mighty people came in their masses from all the Palestinian areas to mark [Prophet Muhammad’s] Night Journey and Ascent to Heaven at the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque bears a clear message to everyone that the residents of this land will remain people of Ribat (i.e., religious conflict over land claimed to be Islamic) and resolve and the spearhead directed at all the plots striving to Judaize the holy city [of Jerusalem] and erase the characteristics of its Arab and Islamic identity, and that the Muslims’ first direction of prayer and the destination of the Night Journey of Prophet Muhammad (i.e., Jerusalem), blessing and peace be upon him, is before our eyes and we will defend it with our souls and our bodies…

The district saluted our people and said: ‘We bow before the suntanned heads that walked all this distance, old and young, men and women, in order to carry out Ribat at the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem, the diamond in the Palestinian crown. We promise our people that we will continue to defend this city, to be its loyal guardians, and to serve this people and its causes until Allah writes for us the victory on its land or Martyrdom under its fragrant soil.’
