PLO Libel: Israel is trying to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque and build a Jewish Temple in its place

“PLO Executive Committee member and Head of the [PLO] Department of Human Rights and Civil Society Ahmed Tamimi called on the UN and the international community to do what is required of it regarding the daily violations that the occupation forces are committing against the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Tamimi said in a statement yesterday [April 14, 2021]: ‘The violations that were committed yesterday evening (two days ago) at the Al-Aqsa Mosque – cutting the electric wires of the loudspeakers and preventing the sounding of the call to evening prayers through them (the loudspeakers were apparently cut to avoid disturbances during the official Israeli Memorial Day ceremony held at the Western Wall Plaza below; Muslims responded by rioting and throwing rocks, wounding 6 people -Ed.), confiscating the meals of the [Ramadan] fast breaking meal, preventing the distribution of sweets, establishing checkpoints, [carrying out] arrests and attacks – leave no room for doubt: this is an outrageous violation of all the laws regarding human rights and of the international laws that guarantee freedom of worship…

Tamimi said: ‘The international silence constitutes a green light for the occupation to continue its plans to Judaize [Jerusalem] and completely take control of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, on the path to its destruction and the establishment of the so-called alleged “Temple,” as the settler terror organizations that are supported by the occupation government call it.’”
