PA Daily highlights artist’s "courageous" drawing of terrorists Abu Jihad and Dalal Mughrabi – "she anointed the land with blood of the Martyrs, ensuring victory and realization of return"
The article is about female artist Susan Al-Ghazi in the Ain Al-Hilweh refugee camp in Lebanon
“Through an eagle, [artist] Susan [Al-Ghazi] illustrated the courage of the Palestinian youth, and through the color red she anointed the land with the blood of the Martyrs, which ensures the achievement of victory and the realization of return…
Susan recounts: ‘The Palestinian women are unique in the field of struggle, because they have defied the difficulties and dealt with the occupier. They are the example, and Dalal Mughrabi (i.e., terrorist who led murder of 37, 12 of them children) is just one of them.’ [She continued:] ‘[Khalil] “Abu Jihad” Al-Wazir (i.e., terrorist, responsible for murder of 125) is precisely the Palestinian man who is firm in his positions and his defense of his homeland’s cause. His role is not separate from the role of Mughrabi the woman, and therefore I drew the two of them as twofirm national figures in the history of the Palestinian struggle.’ …
Susan recounts: ‘This deal (i.e., “the deal of the century,” US President Donald Trump’s Middle East peace plan) targeted us, the refugees, by erasing our right of return to our homeland that was stolen by the Zionist occupier. When I drew [PA] President [Mahmoud] Abbas carrying on the last will of [former PLO Chairman and PA President] Yasser Arafat, I sought to show the historic message of defiance that he sent to the entire world through his positions.’”
