Posted text: “For International Women’s Day, Director of [PLO] Commission of Prisoners and Released Prisoners’ Affairs Qadri Abu Bakr spoke by phone with the husband of prisoner Nasrin Abu Kmeil (arrested on Oct. 18, 2015 and sentenced to 6 years; PMW was unable to determine the nature of her crimes -Ed.)

Qadri Abu Bakr spoke by phone with the husband of prisoner Nasrin Abu Kmeil for International Women’s Day. During the conversation, Qadri said that the Palestinian women who are fighting, enduring, carrying out Ribat (i.e., religious conflict over land claimed to be Islamic), and sacrificing themselves are the salt of the earth, and the desired olive and hyssop trees that are scattered throughout our precious homeland. Whether they are Martyrs, mothers of Martyrs, wives of Martyrs, prisoners, wives of prisoners, mothers of prisoners and wounded – of them it is said: There are those in this land who are worthy of living

It should be noted that prisoner Abu Kmeil is the mother of seven children, a resident of Haifa (i.e., Israeli city), and has an Israeli identity card. She was arrested by the Israeli occupation forces at the Beit Hanoun [Erez] checkpoint on Oct. 18, 2015 and sentenced to 6 years by the courts of the criminals, of which she has served approximately five and a half years.”
