International Fatah Spokesman declares that "Fatah adheres to the plan to liberate the land according to the strategy of resistance" violence and terror

"International Fatah Movement Spokesman Ziyad Khalil Abu Ziyad said that Fatah adheres to the plan to liberate the land according to the strategy of resistance… and on the basis of the rights of the Palestinian people that lives under the occupation, which international law determines and guarantees.
Regarding the internal situation and the saddening events that have taken place in recent days, Abu Ziyad said that the right of expression is a sacred right (This refers to the PA crackdown on a protest against the PA coordination with Israel in light of the death of terrorist Basel Al-A’araj, see note below –Ed.) …
In everything related to clashes between Palestinian demonstrators who came in order to express their views and the Palestinian [PA] Security Forces, Abu Ziyad said that first the right of the citizens to express their opinions, and simultaneously to direct the national confrontation with the Israeli occupier, must be defended…
Regarding the functioning of the Palestinian Security Forces, Abu Ziyad praised the decision of [PA] Prime Minister [Rami Hamdallah] to establish an investigative committee… to investigate what happened and to bring to account everyone who violated the law by their conduct. However, Abu Ziyad was against any Palestinian security personnel being accused of treason [by the demonstrators], and emphasized that the best of the young Palestinians who sacrificed their lives for the homeland in the second Palestinian Intifada (i.e., PA terror campaign 2000-2005) were members of the [PA] Security Forces…
Regarding the security coordination [with Israel], which was imposed on the PA as a result of the Oslo Accords, Abu Ziyad emphasized that the Fatah and PLO leadership emphasized that it will not continue as a free service for the occupation, and that it is necessary to differentiate between the weapons of resistance and the weapons of crime in the Palestinian territories.
Abu Ziyad called on the young Palestinians to wake up and continue in the state of intifada that they are in, but to direct all of their strength to the struggle against the occupation in order to emphasize that the Palestinian people will not agree to any new plot being carried out at the expense of Palestinian blood."
BaselAl-A’araj – head of a Palestinian terror cell that planned to attack Israeli targets. Al-A'araj and his cell were arrested by the PA Security Forces in spring 2016 and held in prison until they were released on Sept. 9, 2016, largely due to a public Palestinian campaign. Israeli soldiers tried to arrest Al-A'araj in El-Bireh on March 6, 2017, but he resisted and opened fire on them at which point they shot and killed him.
