Deputy Chairman of the Popular Committee for Refugees in the Jenin District Fida Turkeman: “We came today [April 5, 2022] to mark the 46th anniversary of Land Day and to inaugurate the garden of the Land Day Martyrs who died as Martyrs in the Israeli Interior (i.e., Palestinian term for Israel) that has been occupied since 1967 – the people of Sakhnin, Arrabat Al-Battuf, Kafr Kanna, and the Nour Shams refugee camp. We also came to inaugurate the garden of the six freedom tunnel prisoners who shattered the occupation state’s security system in the Gilboa Prison (refers to terrorist prisoners who temporarily escaped; see note below -Ed.).”
