PA Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh: “We are monitoring with great concern the steps that Israel is carrying out in the region (apparently refers to March 2022 Negev Summit attended by Egypt, Bahrain, Morocco, and the UAE as part of the Abraham Accords; see note below -Ed.), and while it is carrying this out it is ignoring the issues of a people half of which is under occupation and the other half of which is in the refugee camps and the diaspora. We say the more that Israel establishes checkpoints, murder, arrest, and the destruction of every possibility for peace with us, all of this will add to our insistence to continue standing against this Israeli system that is destructive for our land, our people, and our holy sites. And those who do not want to see the truth, let them know that we remain loyal to our land, our holy sites, the Arab nation, the history, the present of our nation, and the freedom of our heroic people that is capable of thwarting all the plans intending to harm our right to independence, sovereignty, and freedom. We warn Israel against continuing to harm our land and our holy sites and against allowing the settlers to enter the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque (i.e., the Temple Mount) – this is unbearable already.”
