Jewish towns in the Galilee in northern Israel are "settlements" according to PA Mufti

Official PA TV program Fatwas

PA Mufti Muhammad Hussein: “Today (sic., yesterday) [March 31, 2022] is Land Day (see note below -Ed.) in the Palestinian lands, and without a doubt the members of our Palestinian people in the homeland and the diaspora, in all of historical Palestine, are taking interest in this day and marking it, because it is a great event and it [symbolizes] guarding and holding onto this land. It is known that in 1976 six Martyrs fell from among the members of the Palestinian people in the Palestinian Interior (i.e., Palestinian term for Israel). They were shot by the occupation soldiers and died as Martyrs while holding onto their land, which was expropriated to build settlements and the like (sic., refers to expropriated land in the Galilee in northern Israel).”

Muhammad Hussein also serves as Deputy Secretary-General and acting Secretary-General of the PLO Popular National Conference of Jerusalem.

Land Day – annual commemoration of the general strike and demonstrations organized by Israeli Arab residents of the Galilee on March 30, 1976 to protest the Israeli government's decision to expropriate land in the Galilee for security and building purposes, which it later implemented. During the protests, demonstrators burnt tires, blocked roads, and threw rocks and firebombs. Six demonstrators were shot and killed by the Israeli army and police. Israeli Arabs and Palestinians consider Land Day a national day.
