PLO Official: "The idea of ethnic cleansing stems from Zionism"

Palestinian Popular Struggle Front Political Bureau member Mahmoud Al-Zaq: “The heart of the Israeli policy since the Zionist movement arose is that they came to ‘a land without a people.’ The idea of ethnic cleansing stems from this Zionist idea, that this is their land, and they want it without a people. All their attempts to expel the Palestinian people from its land, the attempt at ethnic cleansing, and all the measures that are being implemented now in Jerusalem and in the occupied land, in 1948 Palestine (i.e., Israel), are being done in this context. They have made a decision on the Jewishness of the state. The Jewishness of the state is the height of racism.”
