"There are many Palestinian prisoners who have begun to refuse medical treatment" due to concerns over Israeli "medical experiments" says PLO

Official PA TV program Topic of the Day

Director of PLO Commission of Prisoners’ Affairs Qadri Abu Bakr: “The prisoners in administrative [detention] have escalated their steps not just by boycotting the [Israeli] courts, but also more than two weeks ago they began a boycott of the prison clinic, especially the sick among them because there are many sick among them, and they have even boycotted the medicines that are given to them, they refused to receive the medicines. In other words, there is an escalation…

There are many prisoners who have begun to refuse to receive treatment, because they began to doubt the nature of this treatment.”

Official PA TV host: “There is no confidence in the treatment.”

Qadri Abu Bakr: “Right. It is like these medicines that they give the prisoners are experiments for the benefit of their [pharmaceutical] factories abroad. Many prisoners who took medicines had their medical condition deteriorate, so they stopped taking them. In the past the Israelis gave an aspirin pill for everything, now they give a handful of medicines to every prisoner who is sick, for example. There is doubt and even a lack of confidence by the prisoners towards the medicines they are taking.”
