“As part of the activities of the Global Social-Economic Forum, the international academic campaign to fight the Zionist occupation and annexation organized… a digital seminar whose goal is to aid in determining how much the Arab political, social, and academic movements are participating in boycotting the Israeli occupation and resisting the wave of normalization (refers to Israeli peace agreements with Arab states; see note below -Ed.)…

Majda Al-Masri of the Palestinian national boycott committee noted that it is important to establish Arab and international coalitions that will include the civil society organizations, the Arab political parties, and the social and feminist streams that are resisting the occupation and normalization.

Al-Masri determined that the coalition’s central goal must be isolating Israel and boycotting this obstructive entity…

Director of the Al-Quds Center in Jordan Oraib Al-Rantawi noted… that the Arab peoples’ resistance to normalization is not just for the sake of supporting the Palestinian right, but at its essence it is meant to defend the Arab peoples from the Zionist aspirations…

Moroccan activist Dr. Ahmed Wehman said that recently he is noticing a reconstruction of Zionist fairytales regarding Morocco, and a connecting of its religious and historical sites to the myths of the Hebrew Bible. Israeli peace agreements with the UAE and Bahrain – an agreement normalizing diplomatic ties between Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), called the Abraham Accords, was announced on Aug. 13, 2020, under the mediation of US President Donald Trump. Following the UAE, Bahrain signed a similar peace agreement with Israel, as was announced on Sept. 11, 2020. Pursuant to the Abraham Accords, Israel and the UAE will discuss bilateral cooperation on a number of topics. In exchange for the agreement, Israel agreed to suspend its previously announced plans to apply Israel's civilian law to parts of Judea, Samaria, and the Jordan Valley as per the Trump peace plan. The US announced that “Muslims throughout the world who wish to come in peace to pray at the Al Aqsa Mosque, will now be able to fly to Tel Aviv through Abu Dhabi to do so and will be welcomed.”
