Fatah Secretary meets with Islamic Jihad Secretary-General who emphasized his "commitment" to creating an independent Palestinian state

“Fatah Movement Central Committee Secretary Jibril Rajoub discussed a number of issues related to the Palestinian cause with Islamic Jihad Movement Secretary-General Ziyad Al-Nakhalah, and foremost among them the means of achieving reconciliation and partnership, and means of implementing the conclusions of the meeting of [Palestinian] faction secretary-generals.

He also emphasized that in Fatah, led by [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas, there is a strategic decision and recognition of the importance of achieving reconciliation…

Al-Nakhalah emphasized the importance of achieving national unity and reconciliation because it is a national obligation in order to establish an independent Palestinian state whose capital is Jerusalem. He also emphasized [Islamic] Jihad’s commitment to the conclusions of the meeting of faction secretary-generals that was held in September [2020].”
