Abbas "congratulates" Kim Jong-un on the anniversary of founding his political party

“[PA] President Mahmoud Abbas congratulated Chairman of the Workers’ Party [of Korea], Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Marshal Kim Jong-un yesterday [Oct. 10, 2020] for the anniversary of the founding of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

In his telegram, he expressed his appreciation for the historic role that has been fulfilled by the Workers’ Party of Korea, which supports the peoples that are fighting for freedom and independence, and first and foremost for its support for our people’s legitimate struggle for freedom, independence, and sovereignty in our Palestinian country, whose capital is East Jerusalem.

The president said that he is certain that President Jong-un’s positions, which help to achieve this noble goal, will not change. He expressed hope that the historical friendly ties between the two states and the two peoples, like [Jong-un’s] party as well, will continue to develop.”
