Jewish historical presence in Israel is completely denied by Official PA Daily
Excerpt of an op-ed by Omar Hilmi Al-Ghoul, regular columnist for the official PA daily
Headline: “Debunking a mistaken theory”
“Every historical, cultural, and architectural landmark in the land from the [Mediterranean] Sea to the [Jordan] River proves that Palestine is the land of the Palestinian people, and that it never belonged to anyone else (sic., an abundance of archaeological evidence has proven ancient Jewish history in Israel, whereas the Palestinians have no history prior to the modern period). The talk about their [Jewish] kingdoms from 2,000 years ago and more, if they indeed existed, was only meant to throw sand in people’s eyes, because:
- These were incredibly small kingdoms.
- They did not leave a single impression in Palestine, even though the Israeli archaeologists have burrowed through the Palestinian land inch by inch and found not one [piece of] evidence for these kingdoms (sic.).
[Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu and his group have attempted to steal historical stones from the wall of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and other historical Palestinian archaeological antiquities, in order to falsify them later on as ‘antiquities from these kingdoms,’ which did not last long. This is similar to the present third kingdom (i.e., the modern State of Israel), which will not last long and will not be able to survive due to a series of historical, social, cultural, and religious factors, and factors that are connected to the struggle.”
