"Palestine belongs to the Palestinians" proclaims PA Prime Minister, denying Israeli rights to their land

“[PA] Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh said: ‘Our response to the recent statement by Israeli Prime Minister [Naftali] Bennett, who said that Palestine is not occupied land but rather disputed land – a statement that has been adopted by all the previous Israeli governments, is that Palestine belongs to the Palestinians, and that this occupied land will be liberated, as the historical right is ours (sic., the Palestinians have no history prior to the modern period), Jerusalem is ours, and Palestine is ours.’

During a speech he gave at a meeting with the Palestinian Businessmen Association yesterday, Saturday [April 23, 2022], in Ramallah… Shtayyeh added: ‘The government in Israel is not interested in the two-state solution, and not in a one-state solution. What it wants is to preserve the status quo, which is deteriorating from day to day due to the Israeli measures.’”
