Abbas calls on French President to help release French-Palestinian terrorist prisoner

"[PA] President Mahmoud Abbas praised France's efforts to release the French-Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit. He expressed hope that [France] would make the same effort to release the French Palestinian, Salah Al-Hamouri, imprisoned in Israel since 2005… His term ends at the end of November."
Note: Salah Al-Hamouri – member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). Arrested in 2005 and convicted of planning to assassinate Israeli Rabbi and spiritual leader of the Shas party Ovadia Yosef. The PFLP, which rejected the Oslo Accords (1993), planned and carried out numerous terror attacks against Israeli civilians since its founding in 1967 and throughout the Palestinian terror campaign between 2000- 2005 (the Intifada).
