PA Supreme Shari'ah Judge threatens that Israel "will ignite a religious war and start a fire whose flames will reach the entire world, if it executes its satanic plans"

“[PA] Supreme Shari’ah Judge of Palestine and [PA] President [Mahmoud Abbas’] Advisor on Religious Affairs and Islamic Relations Mahmoud Al-Habbash warned that the Israeli occupation state will ignite a religious war and will start a fire whose flames will reach the entire world, if it executes its satanic plans to break into the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque plazas, defile it, and attempt to offer sacrifices and hold Jewish religious ceremonies while using ‘the Jewish holidays’ as a pretext (refers to Temple Mount activist group offering reward to Jews who attempt to sacrifice a Passover offering at the site -Ed.).
In a press release yesterday, Tuesday [April 12, 2022], the supreme Shari’ah judge emphasized that the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque is a purely Islamic site to which non-Muslims have no right, and that the tales that the Jewish terror groups are attempting to promote are nothing but lies and foolishness without any religious, historical, or cultural basis (sic., Jewish history at the Temple Mount, the holiest site in Judaism, is well documented). He also emphasized that our people is determined to defend the sanctity of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, regardless of the price and regardless of the sacrifices. He added: ‘We will never allow groups of terrorists, murderers, and foreigners from all corners of the world to humiliate our faith and our blessed mosque, which is the first direction of [Muslim] prayer and the third holiest mosque.’
Al-Habbash called on our people everywhere – inside Palestine and outside of it – who are able to reach the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque to increase the presence inside the Jerusalem Noble Sanctuary (i.e., the Temple Mount) and to carry out Ribat (i.e., religious conflict over land claimed to be Islamic) there in the coming days. This is to defend its sanctity and block and thwart the Jewish settler terrorists’ attempts to execute their plans.
He added that the Jewish extremists are receiving full support from all the occupation state’s establishments – the political, military, and legal [establishments] (sic., the Israeli police warned it would distance the activist group’s leader from the Old City of Jerusalem ahead of Passover) – and emphasized that the occupation state is striving to commit a despicable crime and execute a dirty plan at the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque…
Al-Habbash called on the free world and the international community to restrain the Israeli aggression against Jerusalem and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, which reached its peak with the intentions of extremist Jewish groups to offer sacrifices at the gates of the mosque and to defile it with blood. He emphasized that if this crime is committed, no one will be able to anticipate the Palestinian response and the responses of the Arab world and Islamic world.He also noted that ‘No one in the world will be spared from the furnace of religious war, which will exterminate everything.’”
Mahmoud Al-Habbash also serves as Chairman of the Supreme Council for Shari'ah Justice. In August 2019 PA Chairman Abbas dismissed all his advisors by Presidential decree. It is unclear what their status is today.
The PA and its leaders misrepresent all of the Temple Mount as an integral part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore, they vilify any presence of Jews on the mount as an "break-in." It should be noted that Jews who visit the Temple Mount only enter some sections of the open areas, and do not enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock. Israeli police ban Jewish prayer at the Temple Mount because of threats of violence by Palestinians.
