Despite silence over his own people's acts of terrorism, Abbas strongly "condemns" terror attack in Egypt

“Yesterday [May 7, 2022] the Palestinian [PA] presidential office condemned the ‘terror’ attack that a group of terrorists carried out east of the Suez Canal (refers to Islamic State attack in which 11 Egyptian soldiers were killed -Ed.). The attack left a number of Martyrs and wounded in the Egyptian army ranks.

The presidential office said: ‘[PA] President Mahmoud Abbas expresses sincere condolences to President of the Arab Republic of Egypt his brother Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and to the families of the victims of this despicable crime, which was committed against a group of heroes from the Egyptian army.’

The presidential office emphasized that Palestine and the Palestinian people stand alongside big sister Egypt led by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in their war against terror. It wished Egypt, the Egyptian people, and the lauded Egyptian army constant stability and prosperity.”
