PA minister absurdly blames Israel for high unemployment rates amongst Palestinian women

Official PA TV program Palestine This Morning

PA Minister of Women’s Affairs Amal Hamad: “In the internal context there are also additional challenges. When we talk about women in the job market- The rate of female university graduates or university students is 61%, and more than 60% complete their studies. Unfortunately their rate in the job market was 20%, and then it went down to 18%. Now the latest surveys say that in the shadow of the Coronavirus it’s 15%. In other words, when we talk about their rate in the job market, this is also painful. When they talk about the unemployment rate among women they say it’s 41%, among women in particular. When they talk about the unemployment rate among female university graduates it’s 67%, and in the Gaza Strip it’s 80% [among] female university graduates. There is a crisis. There is a true challenge as a result of the limited resources available to us, as a result of the existing challenges, and as a result of us being under an occupation that is still burdening us."
