- We have agreed with the Hamas Movement on building partnership through democratic elections on a basis of proportional representation.
- Tomorrow [Oct. 5, 2020] we will be in Damascus to hold conversations with a number of factions.
- After the conversations, [PA] President [Mahmoud Abbas] will be authorized to issue a presidential order that will determine the date for holding the elections.
- The Palestinian people is the one that will decide who will lead it, and talk of an alternative leadership is stupid.”
BBC Arabic host: “Mr. Rajoub, if the current American administration led by [US President Donald] Trump – which as you said is persevering on the train of normalization between Israel and the Arab and Gulf states – continues to be in power, how would the PA deal with this?”
Fatah Central Committee Secretary Jibril Rajoub: “First of all, we will not surrender and we will not raise a white flag. All of our options are open, including changing the rules of engagement.”
Jibril Rajoub also serves as Head of the PLO Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the Palestinian Football Association, Chairman of the Palestine Olympic Committee, and Chairman of the Palestinian Scout Association (PSA).
