Today, Tuesday [Oct. 6, 2020], the Commission of Prisoners and Released Prisoners’ Affairs condemned the so-called occupation government’s Army Minister (sic., Israeli Minister of Defense) Benny Gantz’s signing of four orders to seize money that the PA and the Hamas Movement transferred to families of the prisoners and the Martyrs (i.e., salaries paid to terrorists and their families).
The commission explained that these signings come as part of an escalation of the piracy and theft of much money from the families of the Martyrs and the prisoners, which they receive in order to provide a minimum of life in dignity and to overcome the difficulties of life, for which the occupation is the sole cause and factor.
The commission added: ‘Gantz’s claim for passing his decisions stems from the PA and Hamas supporting the Martyrs and prisoners from the occupied Palestinian Interior (i.e., Palestinian term for Israel) and Jerusalem – they carried out actions against the occupation by transferring the money to their families, and this must be fought quickly.’ There is no evidence for this, and this is nothing but a pretext for a new round of attacks against the fighters and their families, and the theft of their money.
The commission pointed out that at the end of 2019, then so-called occupation Army Minister (sic., Israeli Minister of Defense) Naftali Bennett signed a law ruling to seize the money of the prisoners from the occupied Interior of 1948, which they receive from the PA, and to seize all the money that their families receive.
The commission called on the international community to come out of its embarrassing silence and work immediately to put an end to the occupation’s crimes against the families of the Martyrs and the prisoners, because this silence will give the occupation gangs a green light to continue their crimes and their escalation.”
