PA official quoted in PA daily expresses pride over kidnappings and hijackings that have led to prisoner exchanges with Israel
"If this [exchange for Gilad Shalit] deal is carried out today, the number of prisoner exchange deals with Israel since 1948 will reach 36 – so said the head of the statistical department at the Ministry of Prisoners' Affairs, Abd Al-Nasser Farawneh, on his Internet site, 'Palestine Behind Bars'… Farawneh said that the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) can be rightfully proud of being the first to have started the prisoner exchange 'deals' in the Palestinian context, in July 1968, when one of its cells succeeded in hijacking an Israeli plane and forcing it to land on Algerian soil, and holding its passengers hostage."
