Fatah condemns Jerusalem Day flag march, and calls court rulling in favour of Jewish youths praying on Temple Mount an "aggression"

Headline: “The Fatah Central Committee calls to wave the Palestinian flag against the settler flag march”

“The Fatah Movement Central Committee held a meeting yesterday [May 22, 2022] in Ramallah to continue monitoring all the matters on the ground and the internal affairs.

The Fatah Central Committee discussed the developments on the ground and the ongoing Israeli attacks, especially at the Jerusalem Noble Sanctuary (i.e., the Temple Mount). The latest of these was the occupation court’s ruling yesterday evening [May 22, 2022] to allow settlers to hold Talmudic (i.e., Jewish) rituals at the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque plazas, including Talmudic prayers and prostrating on the ground during their invasions of the Al-Aqsa Mosque (refers to Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court ruling in favor of Jewish youths arrested for praying at the Temple Mount; the government responded it will not change the status quo and will petition the ruling -Ed.).

The central committee warned against approval of holding the provocative ‘flag march’ in occupied Jerusalem on May 29 [2022]. It viewed this as aggressive provocation and an inseparable part of the occupation’s unlimited war against Jerusalem, its residents, and its holy sites…

It held the occupation government directly responsible for the consequences of this ruling, which causes an escalationand called on our people to come out against this march and wave the Palestinian flag high.

The PA and its leaders misrepresent all of the Temple Mount as an integral part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore, they vilify any presence of Jews on the mount as an "invasion." It should be noted that Jews who visit the Temple Mount only enter some sections of the open areas, and do not enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock. Israeli police ban Jewish prayer at the Temple Mount because of threats of violence by Palestinians.
