Poem glorifies martyrdom-death on PA TV

Poem glorifies martyrdom-death on PA TV: “I want to be a Martyr like you… In life you are sweet, in death you are sweet”

Poet Anas Sha’ban: I put myself in the Martyr’s place, Jerusalem’s Martyr, Palestine’s Martyr. The poem reads: I want to be a Martyr like you. I want to be a Martyr like you. If only I was your eye, so that I would know why you laugh when the hemorrhage intensifies. If only I was your heart in your chest, your oxygen and iron, so that I could see how the honey reaches the lips through the veins. Nothing is as sweet as you. In life you are sweet, in death you are sweet, your name is sweet, you are entirely sweet, your face is sweet – even if the Martyr has died, the sugar in your blood increases.

[Official PA TV, May 3, 2022]

This poem was written and recited on PA TV right after a wave of terror attacks during the month of Ramadan in which several Palestinian terrorists were killed and died as “Martyrs” while attacking and murdering Israelis.
