Official PA TV newsreader: “The European Union (EU) noted that the reports and news items that were published regarding the reduction of its aid to UNRWA (UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East) are fake news that do not contain a shred of truth. The EU emphasized that it is a reliable partner and main donor to UNRWA, and added that last November (sic., October) [2021] the [European] Commission disbursed a sum of 92 million euros at once [to UNRWA]… It also noted that the level of its annual basic funding for UNRWA for 2022-2024 will remain at an annual sum of 82 million euros. The EU announced it will grant a sum of 25 million euros as humanitarian aid to provide a response to the basic needs of the Palestinians in the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip.”
