Headline: "Released prisoner Wafa Albas tells Al-Quds: I didn't regret it and would not hesitate to carry out a Martyrdom-seeking operation; I ate together with the roaches [in prison]"
"The sole female prisoner from Gaza who was released, Wafa Albas, emphasized that she would not hesitate to carry out a Martyrdom-seeking operation (i.e., terror attack) again, if she were asked to do so, and that she will not abandon the aim and the path which she set down. She said that she remained alive as a ' temporarily suspended Martyr'. In an interview with Al-Quds the released prisoner said: 'Allah willing, I will not abandon the aim which I pursued, and if I am asked to carry out a[nother] Martyrdom-seeking operation (i.e., terror attack) I won’t hesitate. It's a matter of principle for me, and it's my dream which was not realized, unfortunately, when I was arrested… I screamed at the Erez crossing, not out of fear of prison or out of fear that they would give me a life sentence. I screamed and cried because I didn't die as a Shahida, because the switch on the explosive belt malfunctioned… I went to the Erez crossing as a Martyrdom-seeker, in order to seize the rights of my deprived people, and I don't regret it. I won't regret an action which I regard as a heroic [act] of struggle."
