“[PA] Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories and preacher at the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque Muhammad Hussein said: ‘Removing parts of the Ibrahimi Mosque’s (i.e., Cave of the Patriarchs) staircase (the white staircase) [parentheses in source] is a racist Judaization crime’ (refers to a project for handicapped accessibility to the site –Ed.)…

In a press release yesterday [May 24, 2022], Sheikh Hussein explained that what is happening is part of the occupation authorities’ plans whose goal is changing the archaeological characteristics of the mosque, and completing the elevator project that they intend to establish for the benefit of the settlers’ invasions…

He demanded that the Arab nation and Islamic nation do what is required of them, thwart the occupation’s aggressive Judaization plans, and defend the Palestinian holy sites against the attacks of the settlers who are sowing destruction and ruin in the Palestinian land.”

Muhammad Hussein also serves as Deputy Secretary-General and acting Secretary-General of the PLO Popular National Conference of Jerusalem.
