Fatah official calls Israel "an occupation that has continued for seven decades"

Fatah Revolutionary Council member Iyad Safi: “The occupation is condemnable wherever it is, and it is also a criminal occupation. Just as there are those who are attempting to condemn the [Russian] occupation in Ukraine, so too the world needs to be honest with itself and declare the [Israeli] occupation as a crime – an occupation that has continued for seven decades and is currently starting the eighth (i.e., since the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948), and it is continuing to pierce deep into the blood of our people, our children, and our young people in the land of Palestine.”
